New CDs have been released! Digital links, etc.

Howdy folks! We are happy to announce that the worldwide release date for our 2 new records is October 16, 2015.

Something Old Something New is a collection of new originals and will be widely available on both CD and digital release.

Something Borrowed Something Blue is a collection of cover tunes and is available as a 100-copy limited edition CD directly from the band and a very limited digital release from our bandcamp page only.

CDs have been delivered and are available for mail order.

Digital sales are slowly being added to all the major outlets and we expect to have the new record on iTunes and Amazon shortly. For now you can but directly from the band at www.newbenfranklins.bandcamp.com or at cdbaby.com/cd/newbenfranklins.

Rest in Peace, Gary Lee Bomar.

Denver experienced a huge loss on Sunday, October 4, 2015 when our good friend Gary Lee Bomar passed away from an accident that occurred while he was on vacation in Mexico. The community has been impacted in a giant way. Dave sat down and wrote and recorded this song, hoping to help others heal and recover from the loss.

Love each other. Tell each other often.

NBF on Sounds on 29th!

The band recently recorded a live taping for Colorado Public Broadcasting (Channel 12 in Colorado/ www.cpt12.org on the web) and their amazing comedy/music program Sounds on 29th. The show aired on Saturday, August 29, 2015 and is a brilliant preview of what’s to come on the albums that will be released in October, 2015.

Have a watch to the boys run through a few songs, joined by their great friend Damon Smith on guitar, at the link below.

Comedy by Penn Darfield (you’ll laugh and you’ll cry) and hosted by the unequaled Magic Cyclops.

Time off to finish records!

Hello everyone. Just a quick note to say thanks for a great summer and festival season in 2015! We have had an amazing time playing music for so many great folks.

Now that August is upon us, it’s time to hunker down in the heat, and get the 2(!) new albums finished that we’ve been working on for so long. What started out as 2 small projects has turned into 2 large ones, and we’re pretty excited about the results so far. We think you’ll definitely find something on these records that you’ll want to listen to over and over again.

We are scheduled to release the albums on October 17 at our favorite rock club, 3 Kings Tavern. We hope you’ll plan now to join us!

Enjoy the rest of the summer. Be safe. Treat each other well.

Much love,

NBF.

Happy holidays 2014!

Happy Holidays. y’all! To help you celebrate we recorded this little Waylon tune. Hopefully, in addition to it bringing you a bit of holiday joy, it will also get you primed and raring at the bit for the upcoming February 2015 Waylon tribute shows.

What to see at UMS by Enrique Jiminez

Enrique Jiminez, from Denver band Altas, and an all around bad ass dude gave a brief interview with Westword with a few bands he thought were bands to see at this year’s Underground Music Showcase. He gave a little shout out to us. Thanks, Enrique!

New Ben Franklins – 8 p.m. – Gary Lee’s Motor Club and Grub: They’re just old school. They have their sound and have been doing it a long time and they’re good at it. It’s a more country rock type of sound. I don’t really see much of that going on mixing the two and bringing that part of Colorado into the kind of indie scene represented at this festival. It’s very non-traditional but hearkens back to that old country sound. I like the tonality of it all. When you can strip something down to its core sound and get something good out of that it’s a very difficult thing to do well. Hundreds of people try to get that tonality.”

Johnny Cash Tribute – FREE DOWNLOAD!

Hey cool kids… we recorded this tribute to Johnny recently with our good friend Buddy Gould playing drums. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Johnny’s passing we are giving it away free. Head on over here to download it: https://newbenfranklins.bandcamp.com/track/guess-things-happen-that-way

Don’t forget we’ve also got a great line up playing the tribute show this Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 3 Kings Tavern in Denver.
